About Us

Meanstreak is a pioneering all-female metal band known for their powerful sound, technical musicianship, and relentless energy. Formed in the late ’80s, they quickly earned a loyal following with their dynamic performances and bold presence in a male-dominated scene. With intricate guitar work, driving rhythms, and fierce vocals, the ladies of Meanstreak continues to leave a lasting mark on the metal world. With influences such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica, they paved a path for women in metal with the help of legendary producer Alex Perialas at Pyramid Sound in Ithaca, NY. Meanstreak’s 1988 release “Roadkill” put them on the metal charts and landed them spots as the supporting act to nationally touring bands such as Overkill, Manowar, Anthrax and Motorhead. They headlined shows at legendary clubs such as L’Amour, The Cat Club, The Limelight, CBGB’s and The China Club in NYC, Their album “Roadkill” is considered one of the best female metal albums of all time.  Meanstreak recently concluded a U.S, tour in support of John Petrucci's successful solo tour and reunion with Mike Portnoy. They most recently supported Zebra at Westbury Music Fair in NY and will be headlining the  Whisky a Go Go, and Pappy & Harriets in CA, as well as performing at John Petrucci's Guitar Universe 5.0 in Las Vegas in August 2025.
